The template

What's in it, nothing more.

01 →
You and your client

A header with your name, contact details and tax ID if you want, then the client, the project and the period. Every field spans the full width, so a long name fits on one line.

02 →
One line per task

The date, what you did and the time in hours and minutes: type 1:30. Decimal hours (1.50) are calculated next to it, for invoicing.

03 →
Totals add themselves up

The number of tasks and the total, in hours and minutes and in decimal hours, appear at the bottom. Today's date fills in by itself: print it or save it as a PDF.

Questions

Before you download

Is the template really free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no email address. You can change it however you like. Download the Excel template

Why decimal hours?

You enter the time in hours and minutes, and the template converts it to decimal hours (1:30 becomes 1.50), which multiply directly by your hourly rate.

Does it open outside Excel?

The file is in Excel format (.xlsx). Formulas and headings are protected, with no password, so they can't be erased by mistake. It also opens in Google Sheets or LibreOffice.

How is it different from Odha's report?

Odha's report has the same layout, but there's nothing to copy over: every task you log during the day is in it, with your logo, as a PDF and an Excel file.
